so i went and put half the money on the dart iron eagle heads that i am buying. i picked up one of them. 200cc runners and 64cc combustion chambers.

he had some roller tip rockers i think they are called. not the full rockers. they have the hydraulic looking end for the pushrod and then roller for the valve side. i just wanted to make sure i am able to use these kind of roller rocker. he is throwing them in for free. i can't wait.

i drove an hour and a half to put half the money on them. i also grabbed one. not that i was worried about getting screwed on the deal or anything. i just want to be able to look at it and know what i am working ungodly amounts of hours for, lol.

i know my question is kinda lost in there, but i do need to know if i can use these roller rockers.

Yes you can use those with out a problem. They are a big step above stock stamped rockers. And I think you can use those with stock height valve covers also.

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

thanks, i do have tall valve covers though.

I disagree. The cam profile determines the performance more than the actual lifter. A flat tappet cam is designed to be used on non roller lifters (if this is what you have). It limits rate of lift, he isn't gaining anything by putting on the same lift in roller rocker form. It will reduce friction, but not to the point where you'll feel any extra power. Weight is the key in this situation, a set of aluminum rockers (roller or not) would make better performance unless the camshaft is changed.

I'll just throw this in...BEWARE of cheap roller tip rocker arms, if you have no idea who made them don't use em, i had a pair that you couldn't adjust right either you were lose or to tight and the ones i had had a tendency to spin right off the valve tip, of course that happened because they binded up and bent the push rods and shot my lifters out of the bore, on a bright note i had spare push rods on me and i was able to use mechnical fingers to put the lifters back in, going through the push rod hole...oh what fun

this guy didn't skimp when building this engine. i think he may have said $300 he paid for them?

i also might try to get some extra money together and replace my performer rpm intake with his rpm air gap as well as snag his 10.5mm wires.

what kind of ignition do you have? I doubt you really need 10.5 mm wires, that's more for strictly racing applications

That may be the case, but if they don't say comp cams, crane , lunati or any reputable company on them watchout, but give em a try some stuff just works, some doesn't

should i grab the 10.5 wires then?

i wanna grab them just to show the people i work with. haha

Well it sure isn't hurting anything. I just doubt they'd be helping, wire looms are more expensive for 10.5 mm (even most that are advertised to hold 9mm will only hold 8.5 mm wires). If you want it for show and its cheap why not?
