Hello, I am the proud owner of a 1983 El Camino. I am 2 years into this car, and am pretty happy with what I have got accomplished. (Although at this point, the car has more parts made by Dorman and Edelbrock than Chevrolet)

I have just swapped a very tired 350/350 combo for a freshly rebuilt 1 piece rear main seal 350 block with Vortec heads, XE262H Comp Cam, and Edelbrock Performer intake and Carb. This is attatched to a 200 Metric trans.

I hope you guys will be able to help me finish my ride and I can pass off a few things I have learned to you guys too.

Welcome to the site from Houston. Let's see some pics of your ride.

Baby that transmission and consider an upgrade to something stronger in the future.

I will try to get some pictures on after I get it washed, living in the country in winter makes for a real nasty vehicle.

I'm not too hard on that 200 transmission, although I am trying to cheaply source a 200-4r to go in once some extra money comes along.

Heres a few pictures - still no wash as the weather has been kinda nasty this week.

The seat are from a 99 Firebird, the Auto-dim compass mirror is from a Chrysler van, and the Digital dash is from Dakota Digital (and totally worth it)

Looks like a nice project. Thanks for sharing the pics and introduction.

Welcome from New York state. Nice looking El Camino!

Welcome from Southern AZ. I agree with you about the digital dash. Looks like it came from the factory. You have a nice looking El Camino.
