Hi everyone!
I have owned my G body since 91 when I was in the Army in Germany. I bought it over there when some poor Airman couldn't get it to run smooth. All it needed was a new distributor cap (it had a crack in it). I am the second owner of a $350 car. (good car, great price!) It is an 82 Grand Prix that orginally had the 4.1 V6 Buick. About a month or two after getting home out of the service the motor blew on me with about 140K on it. That was 93. Within a month I threw in a Camaro motor with TPI and a 700R4 transmission. The fuel milage and power of TPI are great! Within a couple of years I got married and had to buy a "practical" car for my wife. I still hung on to my car though. It has been in storage for some time now and I am starting to pull the mothballs out. I went and started the car up last weekend after dropping the tank and dumping any residual old gas. It stills starts quick and runs ok. Over the years it has seen a bit of wear and tear. The car is now multicolored from replacement parts from an rearend accident. (not my fault). The paint is extremely tired but the sheetmetal is pretty solid. I hope in the coming year I can get my shop setup and do a complete frame off rotisserie style restoration. I have lots of memories with this car. It was my first car and I have always loved the body style. It took me, my parents and grandparents everywhere for a week in Germany. My wife and I spent all our dates together in this car. I am glad I hung on to it all this time. I only pray I can do it justice and restore it to it's former glory. Here's hoping for the best and I know I am started on the right foot with this community.
