I've been a lurker for a while so thought I'd officially join.
After several years of trying, I finally convinced my 84yo Grandpa to sell me his '79 Cutlass. This was his baby and the only car he NEVER left outside. Although it has almost 157K you'd never know it. Not even a hint of rust and no accidents ever. The spare tire ghas never been mounted and all the factory paperwork is still in the glovebox, including the option sheet. He had it repainted a few years ago and it is absolutely a time capsule. Thanks to the "grampa mats" the original carpet isn't even discolored - let alone stained. Pretty standard Cutlass Supreme Brougham stuff -- 305 with a quadrajet and th200, 2.29 open rearend. I have already picked up a 200 4R and a 3.42 posi and a WS6 front swaybar. Still on the lookout for the right wheels and gauge set. It stays in the shop with the cover on it until I have all the parts to do it all at once.
