damn i wrote this whole intro about the car and my situation, and it logged me out lol

im not typing all that over again, ill just sum it up

79 monte carlo, i bought it, then got deployed

it has a 350 v8 from a 93 suburban, that was rebuild ab=nd bored over 40 and it has header and mildy agressive cam, sounds deep and lopy. trans mission was rebuilt also, has a 700r trans. It feels like 270-280hp, but i dont know for sure heaviest car ive driven. It has issues, the biggest issue now is the rocker arms are tapping right before i left. Mechanic friends tell me its the cam popping out the studs, im taking the heads off when i get back anyway and fixing everything. The speed capble is not installed, dashboard has no light, but it sometimes comes on, head lights the same way. It was working then it stopped, i replace the light switch and everything, i think its a wiring issue, the wiring is a mess.

All warning lights work. Heat works, no AC (dont care, never use it, parts are there though), it needs trim replacment, and the doors need to be fix,the locks and the hindges.(was going to get the body shop to do it but i had to leave, easy fix), the whole dash board need to be replace. body of the car is in very good shape, odo read 688,000+...also on the dashboard it says turbo with the chevy symbol, any idea? was this a turbo v6 before...IDK

Car is hard/cold start, no choke...swap was not perfected. It stalls sometimes from a stop or when moving slowly and you give it gas too quick. Especially in reverse.

Im a nissan guy, i dont know squat about this car, and im learning, im giving up the 240sx when i get back, one of the cars has to go and its going to be the 240sx. Im going domestic, plus i just want a fun cruiser

I want a streetable 330-360hp, ive been looking for advice and info but no luck, i want to put 3.7 gears in it. I couldnt find if they will go into the original rear or do i need a whole different rear assembly?

Ive done 5 speed swaps, i would like to have this MC 5 speed, any luck or guides with that? If its too much of a hassle, ill stay auto.

Is there a kit where you can modernize the wiring, a modernized AC/Heater controller etc

I dont know anything about modding american cars or the lingo, im still learning. My main worry is the car getting stolen, its just one of those cars that built a reputation from movies etc. I hate theives with a passion, had cars stolen before it sucks. I may get a detachable stering wheel lol.

Show me some trusted sites yall go too. i know of summit racing etc but im talking about ones geared towards my car type.

The only picture i have is in my Avi from my facebook

There are a few options for the wiring. American Auto Wire is what I always use, Ron Francis Wiring,Painless Wiring just to name a couple.

Vintage air is a go to place for the HVAC units. they have vintage and modern looking controls.

http://www.mattsclassicbowties.com/ has always been good to the guys in the hobby.
