Just joined and figure I'd introduce myself. I'm back into a g body after about 20 years of not having one. I've owned 4 78 monte Carlos over the years and just sold a c10 I was building to buy an all original 80 mc turbo. Car had been sitting in a barn since 96. So far I have replaced brakes, radiator, cap, water pump, hoses, belts, valves giver gaskets, vacuum lines, potted vacuum switch, full tune up and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. I'd like to keep the car as original as possible except lowered and maybe some 18" wheels. I've been having fun with the originality of the car so far. Hopefully I can add some knowlege to this site and look forward to checking out all the rides on here.

Welcome. Car looks well worth saving. Glad you got it out of the barn and back on the road.

Welcome from another 80 Turbo Monte owner from Iowa. Your car sounds a lot like how I found mine. I want to see some more pictures of that nice car of yours.

Thanks, trying to figure out how to create an album. It's amazing how well the factory paint buffed out. Are you still running the turbo setup? I see a lot of people ditch them. It's pretty weak

I believe your car is nicer than mine! Good job on getting it cleaned back up. The N90 wheels look the best on there. I have been running the factory setup up until now. I am in progress of converting to blow through now. You should check it out on the Suck N Blow thread. What state are you from?

One thing I would suggest doing is put in a better gear ratio. These engines like more RPM than what the factory setup will give. Helps with the turbo lag and making boost.
