One thing I would suggest doing is put in a better gear ratio. These engines like more RPM than what the factory setup will give. Helps with the turbo lag and making boost.
I'm keeping my eye out for another rear. I haven't opened mine yet but it seems to have some kind of limited slip. This winter I want to redo all the steering and suspension. I'll check out your thread. If this motor ever goes I thought about 1 4.1 block. Four barrel intake and aftermarket turbo and I tercooler and maybe keeping the factory draw through carb. Or going with a fitech. Still researching. Thought about turbo ls swap too.

The "Reagan" sticker makes it a time capsule. It's not even "Reagan/Bush". The sticker is from mid-1980 or earlier.

Resist the ls urge (save that for when you find a Monte with a 305). If you wind up at some point rebuilding the 3.8 or finding a 4.1 and building that consider using a stroker crank too.

Welcome to the site!

There are one or two other Turbo Monte guys here!!
Thank you!
