Hey all! Ive got an 82 Buick Regal with a built Pontiac 455, problem is now the car sits several inches lower in the front. Car originally came with a v-6. My question is, where can I find v-8 (heavy duty) coils that will fit this car? I dont want the lowered look , I would actually like it to sit up strong looking, and functional. Thanks for any help!!! cool site

I'm fixing to do the same thing cause my 80 malibu has the stock springs and they got a little sag going. I found out that the coil springs for S10, F body camaros, and g bodys are all interchangeable. The body spring can only handle roughly 348 lb/in. while the S10 can handle 637 lb./in. and the Fbody can handle up to 706 to 767 lb/in., almost triple what the g body has. Here's the website where I gained all my info:

http://jeffd.50megs.com/Moog_Spring_Page.htm

The ones you want are Moog part# 5660, 5662, or the 5664.
Look on ebay, amazon, and summit and they all range between 60$ to 70$
Good luck!

P.S. The S10 5660 will lower you about .75 to 1 inch while the 5662 and 5664 will lower you almost 2 inches but will give you the greatest strength spring and not bottom out on you, being that you have a 455.

So if this is correct, the 5664 would be a bad idea with 2" drop spindles then huh? I'll be acquiring my poncho 455 soon and would like to get my front end stiffened up a little more. I have the spindles but haven't installed them yet. When I got the car I thought about leaving the stock sbc in it but plans have changed.

Thanks. I did some digging and it appears as though I'd only be looking a 1/4" drop in load height. I really want to stiffen that front end up before the added weight of a 455.
