Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on what you want to do with the car. I wouldn't entirely give up on the 327, they're great little engines. Granted it won't have the torque of a big block or a decent LS engine, but with some tweaks, and proper gearing, it should be a fun cruiser.

And honestly... That's all I really want. I'd like to put my boys in the back with the wife up front and go on a power tour. Its not gonna be a dedicated 1/4 mile crusher...

I'd also like to do a Power tour one of these years before I'm too old to do so. It's a great car to do it in. In fact, one our fellow Florida members and wagon owner had done the Power Tour this year with his GN powered Malibu wagon. He also took his family.
Keep us updated on your progress.

Nice to see some people from The Sunshine state. Im from the Orlando area, but live in Texas at the moment. Most of the time Gbody people know Gbody people. By any chance, would any one know of any Gbody wagons for sale ? I am very interested if its in good shape. Thanks

Hello guys my names Ryan I am a 5th gen. Therobred bowtie addict I live in Plant City and I recently started on restomodding my 1978 El Camino I put a 350ci with 260hp as it sits stock it was a frankestein love child of a family friend I traded a Apache to for his 1965 Buick Riviera GS and his monster esk creation a 350ci engine almost entirely made with parts from fighter jets and unused parts from Tony Stewart from way back and honestly I am new to the El Camino scene but I have a twisted imagination and I love to show off my horrificly tasteful style but I'm still in phase 1 the TEAR DOWN but I'm looking to potentially make it a Hellcat killer El Camino by eventually put either my pro tuned drag spec 454 or 572 into it but I think I will cross that bridge when the time comes until then body work yay!!! :')
