Sweet car...love that stock look. Cant wait to paint my car someday so it will shine like yours. Welcome and enjoy being a member of a great group here at GBF.

if yah lived in NJ , i am always looking to do bodywork and paint on the side, i used to be ASE certified when i was 21 when i was working on Porsche's , Audi, BMW's and other high end cars (now i'm 26) i extend the offer to any other fellow NJ g-body owners, it may take a little bit , but the work will be done right. You pay for supplies, im only paid for the labor. I have contract paperwork somewhere if anyone is interested. only thing that sucked when i was painting my car was i remember how heavy the gun felt after a few passes down the sides.

thanks again everyone for the comments, id really like to be a contributing member here on the forums and deal with honest individuals who actually are respectable. Ive had too many dealings with scumbags and hack-jobs on forums and in my area, like one member that was banned here was selling items locally and stiffed people for $$, i just don't wanna deal with idiots like that.

got a few more photos , and finally went to QQ plates, just re-painted the rims and undercoated it.

Added the GP front bar the other day and made some blocks for the rear sway bar and installed it. I have to say the body roll has nearly been cut in 1/2. Rides great , now i need to source a carrier for the rear end and get some decent shocks and springs

Welcome to the forum glade to see more people from New Jersey.

Bumping my old thread with new stuff and i fixed the picture links to the older pictures. Being it's almost the new year, ill recap some things that happened. Last january my father suddenly fell really ill and passed away 3 weeks later. Some of you guys may have seen my posts in the tool box thread, long story short the tool box is in a safe sport now and I can enjoy using my fathers tools. Since then I've been hellbent on getting myself in gear and finish our project. The overall goal / scope has not changed: Re-build it , upgrade it, and keep it looking stock all on a budget.

Just before my father passed away around November 2011 we replaced the front end:

and installed the rear sway bar and GP front brace, well painting them here:

Shortly after I got a olds sport wheel to replace the busted cracked plastic skinny old wheel :

Around January 2012 I replaced the radiator and hoses due to some leaks. Then i went to a local swap meet to get some door seals and window sweeps in addition to replacing the old worn out monroe's:

Still haven't gotten to installing the seals and sweeps just yet, but the bilstien shocks were worth it, im going to have to get ebiach 1"-1.5" drop springs just to get it to handle a bit better.

Picked up a set of i believe 84 reverse lights and tried some "chrome " paint i found, needless to say it looks silver.

But i found stuff i can make look almost like "chrome", this might work to restore the front headlight bezels and other emblems

So the other day I sent the car off to a local guy to get the headliner and vinyl top replaced. If anyone in the central NJ area needs an upholstery guy let me know , ill send his contact info your way. I figured this was a good Christmas / new year gift to myself, my father complained that the old top looked like crap compared to the rest of the car. Finally got it done last weekend. I'm gonna take a stab at restoring the emblems using the chrome paint.

Just need to now find some more trim clips for the top wrap around molding and the side 1/4 molding, if anyone has them or send me in a direction that i can buy them? A

nice work! Looks really good. I hate to admit it, but I actually like the vinyl top on that car. I would stay away from chrome paint, stuff sucks. It's basically silver paint that's not as metallic. The theme of your build is basically the same as mine- mostly stock looking with some performance upgrades. Nice car, nice build. Keep up the good work.
