What's up g-body guys??!!! I am from Texas , just joined a few days ago and I am hooked.... Here are a few pics of my 85 Cutlass Supreme, have some 15x7 and 15x8 Ralleys coming in tomorrow.. 8) First had a Cutlass back in the 90's , was stolen from me twice, but it's proven to be a die-hard; it's still in the family. Now it's time to get mine on the road...
Looks like a clean original car. Those wheels and some meaty white letter tires will do wonders. 235/60/15s are the stock height. Black painted grill also often seems to give them a more serious performance look. Bonus that car does not have the landau top. Got plans for her do tell.
Actually did have vinyl top when I bought. IMO that softens the car's look so I removed, found some rust under there which I took care of before car was repainted original color. As far as plans, good question...My first Cutlass had the olds 307, but this one has the Buick v6. Because of the condition, I could not pass on it.
Any suggestions for this engine? Don't want to swap, I don't have a big need for speed, just like a good sounding car with a lil pep just enough to enjoy with the wife and kids on the weekend. Please excuse my ignorance when it comes to performance.... :?
Welcome to the site bro, this site and the people here are awesome, not like other boards.
Nice cutty you got there... though I wanna see some better shots and interior shots too.
If the v6 is low mileage and in that good a shape, one option is keep it in there, to sound really good, you can put on a dual exhaust with an H-Pipe (not x-pipe, as this is for sound improvement mainly) and 2 Flowmaster 44 mufflers, and some classic long chrome tips (the tips resonate due to the H-pipe).
Another option, if the engine is in good shape there are some Buick Regal guys and even GN guys looking for a healthy v6 to add a turbo to. You could sell it and in it's place, put a nice mild 350 for a good price. 😉
