Welcome Mike; You are one lucky young man. When I was your age my Grandpa gave me his 1949 Studebaker 4 door & I may not have been as grateful as I should of been. As I had to have a 55 Chevy, nothing else would do. Enjoy it & respect it as many adults would like to have such a fine "G" body. One last thought, when you reach 21 & can indulge in LDS (Liquid Distilled Spirits), limit yourself to just one. As many of us here can a test, Torque & Horse Power doesn't mix well with LDS. Enjoy Too the max, Bob Jr.

2004r will drop right in. You'll need to move the trans crossmember back a few notches, and hook up a tv cable and whatnot. There's plenty of helpful info on here. Also, I got the G-Body bug too. 1985 Regal getting a Buick 350/th350 soon. Best of luck, and keep it between the ditches.

Thanks! I am forever grateful to my parents for this... my dad has a '65 vette that him and I worked on a lot when i was little. I like to say i have a true appreciation for old iron. As for turning 21, I dont plan on trying out that mixture. Thanks for the advice!

Greetings Mike & all; I noticed that Vette & wondered if you were from a car family. I didn't see where your from, but if your in the mid West consider the Car Craft Nat's this summer. This July in Wisconsin again. Bob Jr.

Welcome to the site, Mike.
We seem to be getting a few younger members lately...which is great. Us old timers have to pass the torch along to the younger generation. It's cool that your dad is a motorhead and has gotten you interested in older American cars, and not Hondas , Nissans, etc. My hat's off to Dad.
Nice El Camino, by the way.

I went to that last year! We actually drove my elky, about a 600 mile drive, round trip. Flawless, ride was great. Also really enjoyed the the event, i plan on going again and actually registering this time, and my dad is probably bringing his vette too. If you see a silver vette and camino sitting next to each other, thats probably us! We also plan on going on power tour.
