How would the Flowmaster 40 series sound with the cat. converter and single exhaust?

you could hear it from about a 1/4 mile away. Wasn't obnoxious though.

No it wasnt but opinions will vary I suppose. I dont like sh*t sounding glass pack type mufflers, i consider that obnoxious. A car would have to be pretty dang quiet to not hear it accelerating at a 1/4 mile away.

I agree, glasspacks suck. IMO I hated flowmasters too but decided to get some super 40s for my car and I don't hear the drone that everyone complains about..

I think they sound alright. I've had them on my 95 pick up and my 455 olds and they sounded good. I never got a drone either, Ive heard them on two 3rd gen f body cars, one 305tbi and one 305tpi. If your exhaust isnt a rattle trap and leaking they dont sound too bad. They can easily get too loud though. I think people talk crap about them so much because everyone and their brother has a flowmaster set up.
