I use a turbo 400 trans with a gear vendor overdrive unit. I never checked the fuel mileadge. WhenI built the car it was the last thing on my mind. I don't believe the fuel injection saves on fuel. I have about 10 grand in the engine ( stop keeping track) got to expensive :shock:

Can you talk a little about the gear vendor OD unit? Is that the one that splits your forward gears into like 6 different gears? I was thinking about getting something like this for my TH400. In like 3 years it would pay for itself. How long have you had yours, any issues? Pretty much bullet proof?

The gearvendor is a great mod. You can overdrive each gear giving you 6 foward gears. I had to modify my floor pan to make the unit . It wasn't to bad to do ' had to cut a 4x4 square for clearence shorten the drive shaft about 5 inches. I choose to have the system completely automatic (fuctions just like a 700 r4) the unit goes into overdrive at27 mph and kicks out of overdrive at 20 mphs . The other opion is to put a toggle switch and cycle the unit when ever you want it to. I post some pics later when I get home
