Depending on what type of radio you want to install in your car, it might require cutting out the face plate to accommodate a modern radio. You could try Crutchfield and see what they have to offer.

Was 82 still a shaft and knob setup? If so, dash cutting is eminent. Otherwise, the GM DIN and 1/2 will accommodate all aftermarkets with an install kit. As mentioned, Crutchfield will supply all adapters with a purchase.

yea I went on crutchfield and they did not have anything direct fit so I guess im cutting or getting a retrosound then right?

If it looks like this, you will be cutting it. I would look to a later year bezel (1-1/2 DIN, '85-up?), and figure out how to adapt the installation kit if you're not confident cutting it.

1984 up will have the radio bezel you need. You can purchase a stereo wiring adapter at Walmart that simply plugs into your factory radio harness and makes the aftermarket radio install a breeze. Wires coming off this new adapter harness will be color coded and marked. They should also carry the dash kit to install the new radio in place of the original.

thank you, that helps. do I need a 1984 up stock bezel or will the 82 one work fine with the aftermarket bezel for 1984? im trying not to have to cut nothing.
