Writeup with pics on installing Quicksilver shifter into Cutlass console; http://spdrcer34.20megsfree.com/

Thanks for that post DoubleV. I couldn't remember what Ryan's website address was for his write-up. This is what I used when installing the one in my '81.

how did u do it for the reverse light ??

If you modify the linkage bracket that connects to the trans and weld the stock piece to it then you can retain all of this just like the factory had it. No need to do any wiring.

The bracket will look like this when finished:

And what it looks like in a Cutlass console with the Quicksilver top plate (also from Ryan's website):

FWIW, these shifters are okay but they can be a big pain in the butt to operate. I actually prefer a stock shifter for a mostly street type car.

This will definitely help with my install as well, so I can use the column to trans linkage. Thanks.

What I would love to have would be a Hurst Dual Gate for a 4 speed, but those are hard to find and expensive.

Exactly. Why the hell did they quite making those anyway? Seems like alot of people want them, so they must have sold well in the past. Get off your duffs Hurst and bring these shifters back!
