Re: new tires - waiting for my wheels

I completely forgot about this thread... so time for an UPDATE!

so last I posted... I had the wheels back from sandblasting. The deal was $35/wheel... but I lucked out and paid $15/wheel for four of them because they only blasted the front face.

I called around some places and the cheapest powdercoating was $85/wheel
... not an option

Luckily, the company I worked for was also partnered with an auto-plant in Windsor Ontario, called GFX Ltd. They have a full powdercoating/e-coating/etc... plant! I pulled some strings, asked a couple guys I know there to hook me up. One of the guys from work was also going down there for a confrence, so he took all 8 wheels down with him!

... they were powdered in August, gloss black

but due to some company issues, no one's been up there since, and so my wheels are stranded there. I can't afford shipping, so I'm just gonna have to wait till someone goes down and can bring them back for me.

I had adds up for my IROCs and lots of interest... and I've pissed a few people off by backing out of the sale. They'll need to stay on the car until these rallys get tires on them. And since the car goes into storage this weekend, this might not be until next spring.
... I've also roasted the last bit of rubber off the rears, so I'll likely have to replace those.

The clearcoat is starting to chip off the IROCs again, and I'm thinking of hanging onto them and giving another shot at refinishing them.

Re: new tires - waiting for my wheels

Also, whenever I get them back... A set of the Rallys is forsale!
you get two 15x7s and two 15x8s. They were fully sandblasted, chemical dipped, e-coated, AND powdercoated. Gloss Black.

I am selling a staggered set of four, you get two 7s and two 8s
you can put the 7s upfront and 8s on the back. It will give your car a nice stance!

please send me a PM for more info,

thanks,

Re: new tires - waiting for my wheels

Hey as far as your tire dilemma goes I saw 275/60 cooper cobras on summit for like $90 each. They looking much better than the BFGs.

Re: new tires - waiting for my wheels

For what its worth, I have the firestones in similar sized on my Impala and I like them a lot. They look good, great traction wet or dry and I bought them when they had a 4 for the price of 3 sale.

got-em back!!!

same guy who took them down, went down again earlier in the week, brought them back and suprised me yesterday! I had asked them for a gloss black, but they went with a Satin Black/GunMetal Gray, and I love it!

... they were professionally sandblasted, hot-tanked, chemical dipped, E-coated, and Powder-coated. I balanced all on a tire balance machine and they are all straight.

those look real sweet, cant wait to see them on there with some meats!
