My name is Blake and im new to this Forum. i have been on the site for a couple of months and finally decided to join. im from michigan. im a senior in high school and im about to graduate in may (excited!). As an early graduation present my uncle gave me his black 1983 cutlass supreme that he had for roughly a year. He had put a very nice sbc 327 in the car, which still sits in the car, but its now my grandpas motor and he wants to use it in another car so its gonna be pulled outta there when i have my own motor to slap in.
When he gave me this car he had told me the car needed as follows to be driveable:
-my own motor
-torque converter
-wheels & tires
-exhaust
there are a lot of small things that need to be done as well, but set aside for the year the car is in good condition with only two small rust holes on the bottom side of the floorboard, and a rust hole (more like a crack) inside the trunk
As of now i have a sbc 350 that i plan on taking my time with making a very nice motor. i want to stroke it out to a 383 this summer if i can get ahold of a kit and can afford it. but im just looking for a super cheap stock 350 for the summer so i can at least drive it.
i have a lot of future plans but i gotta have the money to do it all first.
In the future:
Motor:
in the end i would like to have a turbo bbc
but will run a sbc 383 for a couple years
Rearend:
almost anything but this 2:73 highway gear
(gimme suggestions)
Wheels & Tires:
I have already bought 4 15X8 Cragar soft 8 wheels
i have wrapped them in BFGoodrich Radial T/A
Rear- 275/60/15
Front- 235/60/15
Exterior:
rip off white vinyl top on back of roof (dont know name of it)
all black with all chrome & trip peices removed
2" cowl hood & H/O Spoiler
Interior:
Get rid of nasty Claret color and get everything black
my car is in my grandparents pole barn. as soon as i have my car out i will take pictures and post them ASAP.
but for now leave me suggestions for my car!
