New to forum... my intro

Hello gbody community,

New to this forum and so far i am loving it. Little background of where i stand. Located in MD, just got a 1980 oldsmobile cutlass supreme with a 4.3L V8. Have lots of questions but i wont start that yet. Car was givin to me as a back up vehicle and as a potential project. Has its issues but does run. Well before i start asking questions i just wanted to give a quick intro and put myself out into this new group of gbody enthusiasts. feel free to ask any questions as i will be doing very soon. Thanks and am excited to be a part of this community. 8)

Lots of info posted on this site. Sometimes to much.. lol. My first order of business is to figure out if my 4.3 is an actuall olds built motor or a buick motor any suggestions of how i can figure this out a 100%?

I'm pretty sure the 260 is an Olds engine (I had one in a '78 cutlass I drove many years ago).

You might try a Google search of a 260 Olds V-8 for a looksee.

wasnt the 267 olds and the 4.3 chevy and buick had a 4.3 v6?

Where is the oil filler located? Do you have any casting numbers from the motor yet?
