Re: New to Forum- The Unfortunate but Amazing Story of my Re

yea $5000 did seem high but that was because i bought from a dealer, it was priced at 3800 but tax, tag, dealer fee blah blah adds up i guess and he showed us so...yea. And definitely right, it is rare to find something here in florida that doesnt have massive rust or sun damage. but in the end its mine, registered and titled all me ,so i got it and the only way to go is up. i still love my regal 8) btw your right he actually gets most of his classics in from northern states this regal specifically, came from North Carolina.

Hey, Joe-
Nice looking Regal; $3800 doesn't seem as terrible a price as one might think, especially in a place where G's are scarce.

I have to add that you've gotta love the add shown in the link above. . . two paragraphs about Grand Nationals and the last brief sentence about how the car he has pictured for sale is not a GN. tricky there, fella. Why would you put that BS in there when it has nothing to do with the car you're selling???

lol that is a good point, i think he just does it to put something there, but usually he finds history on the car you are buying not just some car that is like it. so lol i dont know. :|

On my 1986 Regal I had water coming into the passenger side through the heater box in a heavy rain.

It turned the drain at the bottom of the heater box was plugged with debris so water going down the air make up screen at the top would enter the car instead of draining. Take the screen cover of the heater box off and check for debris on the drain below. You can take a garden hose to add water to this area to see if it drains in the inner fender area behind the front tire or enters the car.

Hope this helps

Nice Regal, I had put a 403 small block Oldsmobile engine in mine when the 307 wore out. Nice to see there was no external change in small block Olds engines from the late 70s to the late 80s so it bolted right in.

actually i might check that out today because yesterday i finally got the motor and transmission out, so its cleanup time in the bay and the leak is a part of it.

the bay is not so bad, gonna take a pressure cleaner or something, to get all the grease and dirt off the crossmember, steering linkage, etc. make sure this bay is nice and shiny for the new beast to come!
