New to me 78 Grand Am

I’ve been searching for a long, long time for another 78 GA to replace the one I had when I was a kid. Last month, I finally found one really close to my house. This is a very solid southern car that has the obvious RF damage. It was wrecked about 20 years ago, and has been sitting ever since, because the previous owner couldn’t find parts to fix. The 301 purrs like a kitten, surprisingly, but the trans needs a rebuild. Won’t move in D, but will move in every other gear position. Winter project to get this thing drivable again. I already found all the body parts to fix it, thanks to grandamman.

Aluminum radiator support too! Seems like a lot of the 78's had those.

Nice to see, feel on the FB pages anytime someone comes across a Grand Am they are parting it out when some look savable. Not that many around, nice to see one put back on the road. I came across and pulled a black steering wheel a few years ago from a GP but it's long gone now.

I’m kind of thinking of going with the same era Trans Am wheel, like the GA CA prototype I thought it looked right at home in front of that dash.
