Hello from metro St. Louis!
I am the owner of a 1980 Buick Regal Limited and joined the forum seeking advice and ideas for my car. I inherited this car from my father who in-turn was given this car for the cost of a tune-up,... no really. The car had belonged to my great aunt but had been tucked away in a garage for nearly a decade before my great uncle asked him to tune it up and see if it would run. Sadly my dad passed away in the fall of 2015, he left the car with me hoping that my son and I would take it on as a project car. In spite of what the plates say this is a mid-west car it only spent about 6 years in California. While in California my father began work wanting to build it into a GN clone. It's currently riding on an all new suspension and all new brake system. He also installed an electric radiator, otherwise she's stock.
I'm not certain that I want to build this into a GN clone as much as I'd like a nice show car. I like its current appearance, that said it will need new paint and the leather interior is ready for retirement. I'm already in possession of like new buckets and rear seat, but will be on the lookout for a floor shift console, seat belts (needed for bucket seats current setup is split bench) and interior trim panels. I'll also be seeking advice on what to do with the motor and transmission, 0-60 could be timed on a sun dial.
Thanks for reading!
