New to the forum! With an 81' Monte

Hello everyone! My name is Clay and I have had my 81' Monte since 1997. In the summer of 2001 I got ran off the road by a drunk driver and hit a light pole. At the time we had a 1 year old and were barely making ends meet. So the Monte got parked and has sat ever since. Well I got the ol' girl out this week and am starting work on her. I will start a project thread. It will be slow going though as I am on a tight budget, and do not have a garage.

Paint looks pretty good for having sat 12 years 🙂 Glad you're restoring it instead of selling to a scrapyard. Looks like not a lot of work unless there's some hidden damage, it might be harder to find the parts than it is to replace them. Good luck!

Picked this up yesterday along with a white hood for $200. Needs a little work, but is all there and pretty straight. Bumper does have one small tear in it around one of the turn signals. Someone was telling me about some type of mend product for the bumpers on these cars? Any info on that would be helpful.

Yeah it has faired surprisingly well. Only hidden damage is the suspension. Needs all new bushings, ball joint, ti rod-etc etc.
