Ive been a member for about two months now. And now matter how much you may think you know about cars theres always some usefull information to be found. I live in Independence Mo. My first car and a lot of my friends first cars where g bodies. Mainly the Olds cutlass. We had them all the v6 to the diesels. Mine was an 87 Salon with t tops. I did everything youve seen on dukes of hazards in that car. From hill jumps to reverse j turns. What fun I had. Now that Im older and that car only lasting a little over a year. I thought how I would love to buy another. If not the same one. Being how impossible that is. I found a 1982 Cutlass Calais. With buckets and t tops. The guy I bought it from was the cousin of the orginal owner with purchase date on title. So I thought this should be a good start. To bad it was a v6. But good for me. My old friend had bought a 350 olds a few years back. So I got the car and engine from friend for $1950. The engine had a fresh hone job. So i bought new bearings all around. I bought an edelbrock cam and lifter kit, Edelbrock high rise intake new piston rings of course. I bought flowtech headers before I joined the forum. Which by the way are indeed a pain to install. I have a couple of cherry bomb glass packs for sound. I have two carbs both 600 ones a holley the other edelbrock. Kind of not sure which to use. Im still in the process of finishing up and cant wait to drive it. Im gonna have the exhuast run down the side. Ive always liked the look. The car needs new paint and the interior is not that bad I will try to get some pics on here as soon as im done. Thanks guys for your valueable information like buick v6 frame mounts dont wotk with olds v8s. 😀
