Thats my old car. Small ding in the passenger side door right?
Isn't that the car you needed those front 442 decals and bumper stripes for?

I've got this old picture of that car from the past......before the 442 decal placement got fixed. Still a looker!

For now I do not have anything. A house I wanted popped on the market, sold the car for extra cash figuring once I was all settled, I could get another one. Well the housing market went crazy, then the car market went crazy, and here I sit, no house, no car. hahah

For now I am just saving money, waiting for everything to cool down.

And yes, she was a definite looker. I sort of regret selling her now that I didnt get the house. (ppl offering 10k over listing price should be shot lol).

Doesn't it suck when life gets in the way of owning your car? Part of me says "Oh no!", but another part of me says you have to do what you can live with. And buying a house, as you know, is something that seems to suck up every bit of any extra $$ you can muster.

It's a gamble to sit and wait it out for a house, though. People paying 10K over list price for a house are desperate and have more money than brains. You never know what the future will bring.

Some people are like that with cars as well. Reminds me of those 88 Grand Prix FWD cars when they first came out. Dealerships were getting huge markups on them because dumbazzes were paying it. Soon, they couldn't even give them away. The early-adopters got shafted up the azz and was whining about it later when they got hardly anything for it when trading it in for a newer car. Derp! You know darn well that G-body you've been eyeballing is only worth say, 12K, but some nitwit decides they'll bid that sucker up to 20K or more. And now every other nitwit with a rusted hulk of a similar vehicle now thinks their junker is worth 20K. It only works if you sell it and not replacing it. Otherwise you'll find you'll have to pay through the nose to replace it.

DB87442 certainly is glad you got rid of the car, I'm sure.

Yeah, it does. And thats what I am seeing now. Look at all those cars on ebay asking 20-30k. I mean, you can ask what you want, but asking aint getting. People know it.

I wouldnt have minded selling it if I actually got the house. Alas, it is what it is. Ill find another one, something to fix up a bit. Thank you again for all the help.

And yes, I am glad to see it return to the forum as well. 🙂 Was worried what was going to happen to it after I sold it.

Hi all! Been lurking around in the background for a little while now and thought I should finally introduce myself. I’ve wanted an ‘87 Cutlass for about 30 years and was finally able to get this 442 the week of Thanksgiving. All original 48k miles. there‘s some small stuff that I need work on and will be posting some questions. Looking forward to getting to know everybody. View attachment 188862
