I know i dont have a picture yet i will post as soon as i can get one.

I have a friend who has a buick regal sport coupe. the car is indirectly his ownership ( family's car) and he has little to no information on it for me. i cant seem to find the year on it on the inside door panel ( ink faded...) and im hoping someone can help me figure out! im trying to buy it from him and before i do i want to know how rare / if rare this model is. it is the regal sport coupe 4.9 301ci with t-tops and and floor shift. has all black paintjob with dark red pinstiriping and non vinyl roof. car is in pretty good condition and cant find any rust in the usual spots. i have searched all over the internet but cannot find a single one that matches these options. the closest match would be the sport coupe 3.8 turbocharged. ANY HELP?! thanks

ill have pictures up tomorrow hopefully. if it is a 78-79 (seemingly only/most common 4.9l) is it a rare care with the options package i stated?

T-Tops it self would make it rare, You just don't see that many regals with T-Tops.
Now the 4.9 motor I don't think buick made them could be wrong, Someone else chime in I'am sure.

i find a lot of sport coupes that match the description but all say come with 3.8 turbo engine and this regal i am inquiring about has badged 4.9 liter accents. it has single headlamps and stock wire hubcaps on whitewalls. red leather and wood trim. its the slantback rear end before they straightened and made changes to the frontend for aerodynamics

Well with the single headlights 78/79 for sure. 4.9 I'am not sure, but if the callouts on the car your most likely right.
be sure to check the problem area for rust on these T-Top cars trunk, front pillars, door jams, front windshield, foorpans and if every
thing checks out and its not a rust bucket, You have something special.

Better wait to you post pics, Don't remember any slantback regals. But all the same if it has T-Tops
and its not a rustbucket yes I would say its rare.

The 301 (4.9L) is a Pontiac motor. For the exact year, decode the VIN.

it might be a century sport coupe...
does it look like this?

these things are starting to grow in popularity due to not seeing a whole lot of them. they weren't too popular back in the day, but like the AMC Gremlin, they're gaining popularity
