Hey all,

I recently bought a 1985 Grand Prix LE T-Top and have a problem. The car is leaking oil somewhere at the back of the motor. It has a 305. The weird thing is it doesn't leak while the car is running, It only leaks after the car has been run and shut off for a while. If it were just a small leak I wouldn't care but it is leaving a spot of oil the size of your head. I really love the car but it is kinda upsetting since I wasn't told about this issue. The car been sitting since this time last year. Could it just be a dried up seal or something worse. Please don't tell me it's a rear main cause that would seriously suck. Just out of curiousity, was my car available with a spoiler? Mine has one but I have never seen another one with it. Thanks in advance.

i know you dont want to hear it but it probly is the rear main seal. but it could always be the pan. maybe change your oil to a different brand. i no that sounds crazy but i had a camaro that leaked like crazy and i changed to a better brand and it stoped leakin

Thanks for the input. I haven't had much of a chance to get under it since I got it home a week ago. Between working and crappy weather there just hasn't been time. I've been hoping that it's something simple, but I guess that would be too much to ask for. It just didn't make sense that it would leak while sitting and not when running.
