thanks....yeah, ive seen several tutorials on adding a 3.5mm input jack to a factory head unit.
I actually added one to my 2002 Expedition, a few months ago. Was bored, and the truck was the only vehicle we had in Germany to tinker around with. So I added the input tied into the audio circuit of the tape player (factory MACH Audio system with Cassette HU, CD Changer, TV/DVD). Works good but the sound coming from the internals of the tape player can get annoying.
If i do it again, I would do it the right way, and tie directly into the circuit's from the main chip, and use a "switching-3.5mm jack"
