NFG here just wanted to post here first. Just got a G-body, 86 cutlass. I go and pick it up this weekend. I can not wait to see it in person. I got it on ebay. I'll let everyone know how this one turns out. Never got a car from there before. Plz check it out and tell me if I got a good deal or not. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 28846&rd=1

Made an offer for 2,000 and he took it, only bad part is it's a used car dealership so I have to pay tax and title fees.

it ooks rust free, i dont see any rust on the bottom of the doors which is usually the first spot for rust. i would say that was a pretty good deal, rust free and its also a factory v8 car. what are your plans for it?

I plan on doing a full service first cap, rotor, plugs, and fluid you know. My first real mod will be true duels form Jegs only $200 for the pipes w/ jeg's turbos and $150 more for the flowtech headers. I am all about the dollar right now. So I try to save it when I can. I've been a f-body guy forever but, I just got rid of my 99 camaro SS 🙁 and I got a 93 z thats a money pit and just sitting with a car cover on it. I don't know about putting any money into the 307 really. Its only got 140hp so the only thing to do is a swap but, now these cars are getting to the point of a true classic it might be better not to.

Give it a little credit now, the 307 cranks out a whopping 170 hp, but with age, it's doubtfully still putting that out.
Don't feel bad about swapping the motor. If you really think having a numbers matching drivetrain will make a difference someday, than stash it in the back of your garage. I wouldn't worry about it.
Car looks nice, now you just need to pull that motor out and put in something healthy... 8)

Yeah I really want a big block I found a 455 buick motor in my area for $500. What is the best path to take, 350 crate motor and keep my trans or should I use the LT1 and 40L80 non electric (700r4) in my Z. I just need to get a new intake to make it carberated. But, gen II sbc are just such a pain at times for parts and such compared to a gen I. Might just sell it for a motor of maybe trade it. Wait.... listen to my now I havn't even picked it up yet. Look what you guys did. The preformance bug bit me again. There goes my money for college. Nooooooooooo!!!
