ok so my headers are like way too close to my plugs and plug wires with these heads and ngk plugs. so much that you are not cannot install 2 of the plugs and wires without having the header loose.

Profiler specs to start with these plugs or colder

which is what i bought aqnd have installed now. With the wires on #1 and #7 plug boots touch the tubes. I have DEI heat sleeves on the wires so there is something between the header and the wire boot.

I noticed these plugs and are listed as shorties but are high dollar and a different material. im wondering if i should try them or something else.

heads require .750 reach and a gasket seat.

has anyone run ngk short plugs? how short are they?

Why not get the Accel short header plugs, did not know ngk offered a short plug. I talked to E3 about them making a shorty plug but they said they have no interest in it. http://store.prestoliteperformance.com/ ... plugs.html

Who is telling you that the NGK 4587 is a short plug :?: It states right there in the attributes "Shorty Spsark Plug - NO" I would venture to say that the picture shown there is not the correct illustration. It doesn't even look right :| Besides going with the ACCEL header plugs, the NGK BR6S are shorter than your standard AC R43/45

NGK chart shows short

thats all i know. also i cannot use the stand ac plug. i have aluminum heads that require a gasket seat with .750 reach.

recommended plug via profiler
Spark Plugs: Revised location to improve flame travel. .750 Reach, Gasketed (NGK R5671A-7 or colder)

these plugs require me to loosen the header to install. not boot is almost touching the tube on 1 & 7. i have dei protect a boot on them and they are pressed on the tube @ those 2 cylinders

we have trouble on one of race cars so we cut a plug socket down and it gets then in and we use plug wire sleeves, I use the sleeves in my street car, I have $180 wires so I hate burning them on the headers

yeah i have those sleeves installed. its touching the tube on 1 and 5 i think i said 7 earlier but its 1 and 5. its not a matter of getting a tool on them its litterally get the plug in there to start it in the threads unless you loosen the header and pull away from the block.

get a rubber gas line about 8" long and put the end of the plug in it and you'll get the plug started...

no no no lol the plug is literally too long to line straight up or even fit between the tube and head unless i pull the header loose from the side of the motor. with the header loose from the head i can get the plug to slip in and start. like i said its only cyl 1 and 5 that are tight like that.

oh...I thought that solution was too easy...lol

it's not too bad tho since the plugs shouldn't have to be removed often...it's not like some of these new cars where you almost have to remove the engine..

only tough part will be to read to the plugs to setup the carb properly, well i dont really have to read each one though. the boot protector is sandwiched between the header tube and the boot on # will this be ok or will too much heat still get through the boot protector and melt the boot. they are the msd 8.5 wires.
