Hello all... I joined this forum as I need to find some next to impossible parts... My Cutlass was purchased brand new by my late aunt.

this is what it looked like when I was in high school... It is a 1979 2 door bucket seat floor shift 305 Chevy car. The thrust bearing went out in the 305 so we put a punched out 350 in it with a tci street fighter 350th trans. I blew the 350 up about 20 years ago... It sat outside and after looking at it like this for about 15 years I tore into it

I got the body back in shape and after about 3 months of very long nights I got it back to this...

I also resurrected the #'s matching 305 and it is in this state now...

Actually it is a little further ahead than that... The h2o pump is on it and it has the balancer on it too.

Here is what I need...

Some ignorant neighborhood kid broke into my storage building where I had it and broke all the windows out of it. Broke the grille inserts and broke the bullet mirrors off the doors... I can order new glass EXCEPT for the wing windows and I can get cutlass supreme grille inserts all day long but the 79 salon inserts are harder to find than Jimmy Hoffa's briefcase...

If anyone has knowledge of where I can acquire these ridiculously rare parts please let me know.

Cool car! If you haven't found Hafrod's thread yet, you'll be glad when you do. He's probably your best bet.

That's a cool car, especially with the cornering lights in the front fenders. Ignorant kid is right. Was this person caught? I'd make them find you the correct replacement parts as punishment.
He was not... I filed a report with the Pennsylvania State Police but the officer stated that without proof there was nothing he could do. We know who did it and he has since left the area. He was also caught by the PSP breaking into my uncle's workshop (he is a retired carpenter) and stealing chainsaws and many power wood working tools. I am just glad he is gone. He was from a WT family that is poor as dirt anyways so there is no way he could have even afforded the sealed beam headlights let alone the hard to find stuff... I grew up with his mom and let's just say the apple didn't fall far from the tree... The neighborhood is better off without them. Glad that you like the car... It has a special place in my heart

Good luck on finding the parts needed to bring it back to life.!! Will be watching and I'll look out for some them parts here in the BIG BLUE state Kentucky.!! Also glad to have ya in the forum.!!
