no electrical power! please help!

My car must know im looking into selling it .... i have a 1986 olds cutlass that somebody put a 455 olds in ... car usually starts right up ... i came down to the garage to start it up today after about a month of sitting and it gave me one "tick" then nothing ... no power to anything ... its not the battery or the battery connections .. where do i start with this thing? I need it going asap was supposed to have somebody come look at it tonight

I found a wire melted down by my starter .. i fixed that. Now i have power in the car but it wont crank

why did that wire melt? and what wire was it?

Fusible links still good after the short? Ignition fuse blown?

Figured it out Lol with all the rushing around i forgot the starter needs to be grounded when i was testing it. It was just the one shorted wire. looks like it was rubbing on the frame. It was the purple wire for the s terminal

that is the wire that triggers the solenoid to start the engine
