research my block i keep seeing the it does no have a mechanical fuel pump provision? does that mean i have to use an electric fuel pump?

Would help if you let us know what engine your working with.

Are you just researching it :?: or have you actually inspected the block to see if its there or not :?:

If it is cast to where there is no hole, then yes you do have to use an electric fuel pump. Make sure that theres not just a cover over it

If its the original motor then you need electric pump.

ive researched my blocl L05 and it says that it doesnt hve a fuel pump provision, but on the block there is a cover where you would put a fuel pump and a hole behind it. i want to run a carb not the tbi setup

If the mounting bolts are there and the hole is drilled for the fuel pump pushrod your good to go. Put a mechanical on it.

Alot of the 1986+ 638/880 casting blocks came with the fuel pump hole drilled or not. If it has a block off plate on it then it is more then likely drilled and you can run a fuel pump. Best way it to put a rod in and see if it goes all the way in. Ive also seen them with it partly drilled only halfway up and same for the return. Those while the engine is apart a 1/2" drill bit will open it up. But just be sure that the cam has a lobe for the fuel pump, if using the EFI cam.
