hi all

i did the 350 to 200r4 swap today and that was a hard job for me with a floor jack and two jack stands on ground ... now i have a noisei problem by TC .

i hear some noise from TC when engine is running and it 's more when engine and wheels are on load and pressure and it 's less on high RPM , and i am sure it 's from Tc cause when we turn off the engine that noise continues for 1 second .

transmission&TC filled with 7.5~8 liters of fluid

Are the bolts that hold the converter to flexplate tight? Did you fill the converter before installing it? Also I think a 350 holds a little more fluid than that cant remember.

yes they are tighten and i filled the TC before installing 0.5 Liter

I would remove the 3 torque converter bolts and turn the tc by hand to see if you can feel or hear anything

i feel something is wrong about gap between flexplate and Tc ... can i use washers to keep tc nearer to transmission ?

before installing i turned the tc by hand a few turn to both left and right directions and i could hear some clicks noise on one side turns .. i don't remember if that was right or left side

hey Steve , i tried that and i can hear some noise like ratchet handle sound

and i used one 2mm washer for each bolt to push the TC a little back but no change and now transmission filled by 10 liters of fluid

if it is the TC then I would not start then engine again, You don't want the broken pieces ending up in the transmission

yes and i removed that 3 bolts and tested the flexplate without connection to tc and we had no noise ... so i should start to search to tc again 😀 i found this one after 2 weeks here
