hey guys, pretty new to the site so bear with me...
i just install new "used" heads from the machine shop with a new 268 comp flat tappet cam, new lifters and double roller.
its all on a 1st gen 350 performer intake a q jet carb. when i went to start her up for the first time after install the lifters were noisy as heck, but i've kept running her and they still havent quieted down its been about 10mins until i her off, i know that they have to pump up w/ oil but shouldnt they be full buy now?

they should be good after running for ten minutes. when i do a cam, i usually use a priming rod and a drill to make sure the oil is getting pumped up to the pushrods. then u start it and with a flat tappet cam u need a good break in usually around 20 min or so ranging in rpms. with the valve cover off can u see oil coming up to the rockers?

I've installed a few comp cam lifters and they all have been noisey, also you may want to check your rocker arm adjustment

Did you oil them first? By that I mean filling a small can with motor oil, submerging a lifter, then pumping it up and down with a pushrod. That fills it with oil and purges the air. Otherwise do like bjohn07 suggested and prime the oil system untill oil flows out the pushrods at the rockers. Sometimes it takes forever to get all the air out and you can damage the parts if the air is not out.
