Welcome from Federal Way ,Washington State. I have a 1981 El Camino SS .You look like you have a good catch there.

Do want to allow the car as a classic car ? Then you don´t need emmission stickers
And you pay less tax

Plan A is vintage car (H-Kennzeichen) to avoid emission sticker, but that'll leave me with much less options concerning suspension/brake/wheel updates.
Plan B is truck registration, which is no problem with the El Camino. That'll be even cheaper in road tax and only little more insurance since it can still be insured as vintage truck (I've got a ingenius insurance broker for that).

Right now, I'm building the new engine (350 4-bolt bored .060) and get the car ready for inspections over the winter.
