Hello, and thanx in advance for the help...So I pulled the tired 350 out to put in fresh horses from a built 327. Upon beginning the shift kit install I discovered that what I was told was a 350c behind a 350 was actually a 700r4. So, my dilemma is how can I correct the 3-posistion shifter/bezel to the correct 4-position 4 speed configuration? I guess now I know why "it felt like it had 4 gears with a very short 1st". I do not want to replace the column shift but I want to have the pointer in the correct position to take advantage of the TransGo shift kit I am about to install. Any Help folks?

Thanks for the help. Looking at these compared to what I have and what I need I think the Shift works one is what I'll go with. 😛

If you are talking about the dash indicator with the needle, then the round gauge dashes had a metal overlay with the correct lettering on it to denote the gear. ( P R N D 3 2 1).

Looks like this.

I am sure it could be made to work if you have the sweep dash.

As far as the linkages are concerned, if it worked before, it may work again with the proper adjustments. You need to be sure the reverse lights work, and the neutral safety switch work when they are supposed to. I am assuming it all worked before since it was in the car already.

Is the car factory floor or column shift?

If it is floor shift, all you need is the indicator overlay & the correct detent bracket. Also I wired into the original safety switch from micro switches on shifter to activate a park lock & reverse lights

If it is column shift you just need to alter the linkage arm a little and get a new indicator for column (column indicator might be a little hard to find)
This is the arm you need to alter for column shift, also comes with the neutral safety switch
