that would ruin more than one day...I doubt tho that the picture of the one who they say ran into the le mans was the one who did it, with that amount of damage I would think the air bags would have deployed...
air bags deploy based on sudden impact. Judging from the look of that crash...the car she it took the impact and also slid sideways... and her car was just along for the ride.

your right, I've seen strange things with airbags going off with just as little hit and not going off when you think they would...I hope they fix that Pontiac...

I hit a tree (Big tree!) in my 03 F150 head on, at about 35 mph, and the airbags didn't deploy. Why I don't know, but the insurance company and the shop who rebuilt the truck didn't seem bothered by it. They told me at that low speed, the airbag would have killed me. :blam:

(This was in 2007, the truck had 37K miles on it, babied. The frame was bent, and they tore the truck down to the frame, replaced the frame and rebuilt the truck. Due to the low mileage and showroom shape of everything minus what the tree did, it was repaired. Due to the mileage of the truck, the total out value was over $11,000....the damage totaled close to $9,000. The shop rebuilt it and looked better than when I bought it new.)

Seeing this makes me wish I was a lawyer. I was actually pissed at that picture when looking at it earlier.

I saw a lot of people on that thread say that the insurance will not pay anything for the car. Hopefully he did have some classic car insurance on the vehicle that was agreed upon at least. He could sue the crap out of her though, especially if he can prove a potential loss of income from classic car shows and contests. I bet this will go to a jury if he sues. I'd push it that far.

Hell, she drives a f'in Lexus, she can afford it.

At least that old roadster didn't suffer too much damage.

Thought I would check to see if there was an update on this and I found this:

I'm curious as to what the owner got for it and was the at-fault driver's insurance that paid for it or the owner of the Lemans.
Atleast they are trying to harvest whats left of it. Still sucks a big one though 😢

Holy hell... Note to self, put a cage WITH door bars in my Firebird.

Women should only be allowed to drive bumper cars...
