Were my connecting rods and main caps number stamped(1 thru 8) at the factory or has someone else been there ahead of me?

i dont think ive ever seen that before from the factory. im guessing someone else has been in there before you. if your taking them off or the crank out check the bearings, if they have a 10 or 010 or 20 or 020 or whatever on the bearings then youll know for sure someones been in there and had undersized bearings installed

my engine manuals all say to number the rods, so i doubt that it's done factory. plus theres no point to the factory doing that.

Most likley it was done by someone else. What do the marks look like? At my shop we have a set of stamps to mark internals. They leave stamps that look almost factory. I wouldn't be suprised if someone has had it apart before.

the marks look like hammer stamped in very neat with the caps and rods each marked beside one another. and then the mains marked 1 thru 4
Also if the crank has been turned will the bearings be marked as undersized?
