Hey guys, question for everyone with a SBC G-body with factory gauges.

What senders are you using for the oil pressure gauge? I'm using one just from a factory equipped gauge car, and I had to kind of rig something up so that it would clear both the manifold and distributor. If you can't tell in the picture, there are 3 180° and one 90° fittings, and then the sender. I put teflon tape around the threads of each, and there is no oil leak, but I just wanted to see what everyone else is doing so I can try something else and clean up the engine bay a little more.

Thanks

The sending unit for factory equipped guage cars was located down by the oil filter and the switch for the choke light was monted at the back behind the manfold. I've seen guys get away with a 45* fitting at the back though.

I just used a 2" straight piece, then a 90 degree fitting on mine. I'll get a pic if you need it.

From the pic it looks like your running an aftermarket intake..........If that's the case I am thinking you might have something up above a daily driver..why not get a new set of guages rather then rely on the older facotry guages. Then again if they are still working , might as well then...As for my car, I had the factory "idiot" lights and there was no way I wanted to trust them with my new motor.just a lil extra security..
