Oil Pressure Too High For Gauge?

Right now my set up is aftermarket gauges under radio console. Gauge goes up to 100 psi for oil pressure. I am wanting to replace my non working idiot light gauges with working stock gauges but am worried because my oil pressure normally is between 60-75 while driving until warmed up and stock oil pressure gauge only goes up to 60 psi. Will this damage gauge? 1980 Monte Carlo 355 sbc 4 bolt main

Is it a mechanical or electric gauge?

It's the stock gauge. It is mechanical, the oil pressure line runs directly to it
EDIT: the aftermarket one is mechanical. I think the stock one is electric. Attached is a picture of the stock one. Bottom left is oil

The factory gauges were always electric, I doubt that the gauge will be affected by being pegged at max pressure until the engine warms up since it just gets a reading from the sender and it's not like it has oil pushing against it trying to force the needle to go farther.
Most people stop using the factory gauges when you start putting a bunch of money into a performance engine since you want to protect your investment with accurate and reliable name brand aftermarket gauges.

The only problem is you won't know if the gauge is pegged because you have more than 60psi or a short in the sender.
Why do you want that much pressure anyway?. Millions of Detroit's finest iron have seen mega mileage with 40 psi protecting their bearings.
Making the extra pressure is more (admittedly not great) load on the engine.

I bought the parts for the engine about 9 years ago. I hurt my back in mid build and had a mechanic finish it for me. he was incompetent and long story short ive been fixing his mistakes ever since. I don't know why the psi is that high. I assumed it was just because it was at startup and the oil hadn't heated up yet because once it heats up it is at about 20 at idle -40 during accel. I'm pretty new to this stuff so any suggestions/ criticisms are welcome.

PS - I will be doing a complete gauge swap for nice aftermarket gauges eventually. I just wanted to get my fuel gauge working again because it burnt out last week and i wanted to replace those dummy lights with actual needles
