Are you referring to putting a 307 in the car that wasn't in it before you owned it OR reinstalling a 307 that you pulled to fix/rebuild and are now putting it back in? You can obtain a copy of the Chassis manual that has all the schematics and some reference drawings on where plugs go, but if you pulled the engine yourself and didn't label both ends of plugs/connectors and hoses when you detached them, then that's a hard lesson learned. I took a precautions to label everything when I pulled my original 307 for a rebuild and it makes it so much easier when putting it back in.
That was where I went wrong I pulled the engines about 5 years ago now I got a different 307 same engine and trans now I just needa know what vacume lines I need to hook up and why wires hook up where I don't need the emissions stuff but I just want to get it going
you can run it without the computer, however, if your still planning on running the CCC carb it will need to be run through the compter for obvious reasons. (computer controlled Carburator) otherwise youd have to get another carburator.
I upgraded from the stock 307 to a built 71 Olds 350 and decided to not remove any of the computer wiring harness or the ECM, I made a cover to contain the wiring harness to cleanup the engine compartment.
i was thinking of running an edelbrock carb but would it just be easier to get the electronic carb for it ???? all i wanna do is get it running the quickest way possible

Don't you still have your original electronic carb? Either way, IMO it would be easier to keep your engine on the computer since it ran fine before with it. No Edelbrock carb needed. If you were to delete the computer, you would need a different distributor anyway, so I personally would keep the computer stuff. Almost all the smog junk can be deleted too, but you can worry about specifics when the time comes.
i got the engine and the transmission and carb installed all i got to do is figure out what wire plugs go where i got a hose diagram already and then i should be all good if anyone has pics of there engine wires on the top of there engine that shows the wires and plugs that would be greatly appreciated
