I'm using a set of 350 rocket heads from 69 on my 403 so wouldnt a set of shorty headers for an olds 350 work on my setup?

* i forgot to ask, will a set of motor mounts for a gbody with an olds engine fit my Monte Carlo? I asked in a post once before but i can't find that post, it was awhile ago.

yes to both

Well on summit i can find mounts that work, but when i call the local parts stores i can only get them to list Gbodys with 307, and diesel 350s. Are those engine mounts the same?

make sure you have header clearance on the motor mounts before you put the motor in, i just put a 403 with 350 heads into my car couple of weeks ago, it was a b*tch

the 307 should be the same, probably the diesel too but ive never had one so i cant be sure

Yeah they're all the same. When i do a search for motor mounts online, between the 307, 350, 403 ..ext they come back with the same part number. 7$ on summit, can't beat that.

Got another question for yall about the old tukey tray if you know what i'm talking about. It's the stamped steel "intake gasket" that also acts as an oil shield to keep hot oil off the intake. I plan on using gaskets instead, so will it hurt me not having this part anymore? mondello offers a fair priced valley tray that requires minor modification to install.

I've heard of people cutting off the port area on the turkey tray and just using the tray part. Without looking at it, I believe you'd want to still leave the mounting tabs there, they are two holes with sort of an extended area that fits into holes in the corners of the heads. Sorry I can't be clearer, I don't have one sitting in front of me, just going from memory. Having said this, is there a particular reason you're not going to use the turkey tray? I would recommend it, some people don't like it for some reason, but I found that it was easy to work with and sealed well. The factory used them on Iron/Iron and also Iron/Aluminum. You just have to make sure to seal well around the water passages. I used the copper Perrmatex around the water passages, and a small bead of RTV around the ports. Whether you use the end seals or not, make sure you also put a healthy amount of RTV at the corners where the heads meet the block.

Yes, this is quite common on Olds. I'm doing this right now and running the Mr. Gasket Ultra Seal intake gaskets.

Correct.
