A or B heads would come on a 64 or 65 425, they have a 45 degree lifter bank and will not work on a 455 with a 39 degree lifter bank. I believe you would have to do a little widening of the pushrod holes in order to make them work.
E heads are good, just about all the heads flow the same with exception of J heads which have EGR bumps.
C's are the best and are very abundant but the flow differences between A-Ga heads is very small.
Ga's have hardened seats (hence the small "a" next to the G), that's one of the minor differences between them all.
Just avoid J's, Ka's are nice if you can find them; D, F and H's are the rarest and command high $$$$. A very nice set can run $5,000-$7,000 and cores can go from $2,000 to $4,000 if you have the right buyer who's restoring a W-30 or Hurst.
Otherwise they don't flow any better than C's... if you really want the most bang for your buck get a set of the new Edelbrock heads with the redesigned chambers by Joe Mondello, a set runs around $1500.
