Never mind. Now buy a Performer and a 750+ cfm carb.

whoops. 😛 Yep, performer and a Qjet will work wonders. Or a 750+ holley. Eddies are for people who can't tune carburetors.

I've worked on all three plus a couple of the original carters, my personal favorite is the edelbrock although the Qjet is a close second. I've had a few holly's right out of the box that needed rebuilt. It's all a matter if somebody wants to learn and take the time to tune any carb. I'm not saying that this will get an edelbrock though.
This engine turns over freely by hand both ways so as soon as I get it on the stand I'm going to try to get a compression test done hopefully everything looks good inside. I will have to fix the oil pan since the yard puched a hole to get the oil out and took the filter off.
