I found an olds 455 from a local car lot guy who has been having it in storage. the 455 has G heads. How much would you guys pay for he said its suppose to run that what his friend said. He is asking 400 for it , Im thinking maybe 300 on safe side.

Can you do a compression test? Is it complete?

Checked the Mondello book, and the G heads are from '71. If it is a 2 barrel, casting number would be 409100 w/3 ribs at the end. The 4 barrel number is the same, but without the ribs. Other than that, both have the same size valves and combustion chamber (2.000-45 deg intake valves/1.625-45 deg. ex. valves, and 80cc chambers). Check the block code behind the water pump, 396021 with either an F or FA (small letter A), which was used from '68-76 (FA would have been after '72).
