I have, it worked fine. It is a fiber gasket, almost like felt. ROL and SCE are the brands. The Last few Olds engines I have bought the $10 Felpro conversion set with cork gaskets and coat them with Ultrablack RTV. You get a lot of the lower end, including water pump gaskets for that price.

I used the felpro on the 307 when I changed the oil pump.

I was a little disappointed with it.

I used the black rtv on it then bolted the gasket to the pan until it cured. then another layer of rtv and bolted the pan to the engine.

That is not a bad plan. Not the greatest gasket but a steal with most of the bottom end gaskets.

Anytime you see the location is Paso Robles, California plan on bending over and grabbing your ankles. Lin has ruined the Mon*ello name. Joes Son seems okay though. New and improved = $$ with same results.

I've always used the GM gaskets. Cork with the metal insert sandwiched in. No issues with those. I don't do that many oil pan gasket changes any more, and I'm down to only 2 more sets. Haven't used aftermarket oil pan gaskets in many many years.

p/n 22519181 if you can find them.

Hopefully the aftermarket has something that doesn't smoosh out and leak. Years ago I used a thick fiber gasket from some gasket maker, can't recall. It was charcoal gray and picked it up at an auto parts store. Worked great. I just can't recall the brand. So I'm of no use. I just won't use a 100% cork gasket.

Felpro makes a rubber coated cork gasket with the solid core. Look up a 350 diesel.
