U see that Mahle OS30534TC says cork with metal carrier.

Never used a Mahle gasket to my knowledge

anyone ever use this gasket?
Not me, but I see a couple of places they say cork with metal carrier, but other places it just says cork (o'reilly's). You can get them at Amazon for like 11 bucks and change. Ironically, it appears it's the SAME parts Brother's Automotive is peddling for $52 or so. Nice to make a profit, right?

I'm researching these parts also. I have 3 part#'s on my list so far ( i will add more )
- Fel-Pro# OS13419C $7.65 ( Amazon ) - Free shipping for Prime Members - 5 stars by a verified buyer
- Mahle# OS30534TC $11.20 ( Amazon ) - Free shipping for Prime Members - 5 stars by a verified buyer
- Milodon# 40800 ( anti-crush ) $19.99 ( Amazon ) - $8.99 shipping - 5 stars by verified buyer / $19.95 Summit - 4.5 stars by verified buyers

I used the Felpro OS 30471 C on the 307.

If you scroll up you can see how I installed it.

So far no leaks at all

it would not lay correctly

It was more annoying i guess

Which is why i bolted the gasket to the pan, let it cure then bolted it to the engine

The hot lick used to be the 350 diesel gasket because it was metal with rubber. Probably discontinued

Yeah, all GM Olds V8 oil pan gaskets are discontinued.

What year was this? I think that may be an old wives tale. The G-body Olds V8s all used the same gasket. In fact, the parts book shows 76-on Olds V8 using the same part number. As stated, it was cork with the metal insert. They may have been rubber with metal insert at some point, but they're all the same if they're an Olds V8. Haven't found a "diesel only" part number. Not saying it wasn't at some point in time, but I can't find anything else on it.

You can check the part numbers for yourself. (350N is the Diesel designator)

Oh, I did find something... in April of 1983, the part number 384472 was superseded to 22519181. But the latest GM part number was discontinued 10 years ago in 2009.

Maybe that one was rubber?? But the old parts books shows that it just fit 64 330, 65-74 V8, and 75 260, A and B 350, and 455.

Found some pics too of these early ones. A couple of them are cork too, and appear to have metal insert. First pic has some bends in it that you wouldn't get with just cork. Last one may be rubberized??? Not sure.
