I just bought this big Oldsmobile parts catalon on Ebay so that i can see all the parts I might have missing. I am hopint it lists bolt sizes and that sort of thing, too. If I can look up any parts for anyone let me know (in a PM, please). I will see what i can do. It's for 1976-1981 Oldsmobiles. The Ebay link will eventually go away so you will need to know that.

I'm afraid you will be disappointed. The parts catalog lists the GM part numbers, but usually not any details like thread sizes. Some entries do list dimensions when there are multiple versions (e-brake cables, for example) but usually that info is not provided.

you sure Joe? I got the 82 and up illustrated parts catalog .... it has the thread and length of every nut and bolt listed.

I jsut wish I could find this catalog on CD-ROM .... it's a b*tch to lug around. When I bought it it was pristine and still in the wrapper. Now the pages have gotten a few oily finger-prints. I'd love to have a copy of that 76-81 manual but not for almost $200.

$200 really isn't bad considering that I will easily be able to sell it for the same price. Last time I bought a parts manual I photocopied it and sold it for more than I paid for. Then I scanned the photocopies onto a CD and sold those on Ebay. LOL. Not exactly ethicial but I was younger then. I certainly won't be photocopying this 6" thick monster, though.

Interesting. My older ones (1960s and 70s) aren't a thorough with their descriptions of parts.

Same with mine.

funny you mention that, I randomly selected a page out of photobucket but I too was looking for all the spacers on the P/S pump. P/N listed but ofcourse there was NO friggin size on that ... I can dig around if you guys need a size, cuz I did find out one or two spacers were obsolete. I was able to find the right thickness washers and stack, I'd had some horrible alignment issues. Complicated by several people taking wacks at aligning the pulleys. I was wearing belts funny ALOT! Mine is 3 books and close to a foot thick.

that is all good Joe, you have corrected my info plenty of times (and been a total gentleman about it), I've learned alot from you. If I get to repay the favor once in awhile. It makes my day.

I can probably find a spacer at the junkyard so don't worry about it. It's easier now that I know what to look for.
