i put on new beltech 2" drop spindles and my driver side tire clears but when i have somebody in the passenger seat and make a left corner the passenger tire rubs on the inner fender? tire pressure is the same. and no my friend isn't a fat *ss. the driver side wheel looks like its about 3/4's of an inch closer to the inside of the car. anybody have issure like this? did i put something one wrong? WTTFFFF????

Could be worn our springs being uneven or worn body bushings. Just some ideas.

GM built these cars with some slop in the dimensions. An older friend of mines loves to tell the story about putting new wheels on one of his cars when he was younger. The left rear fit perfect and he was floored. Then he did the right and it stuck out another half an inch and rubbed. Some years the spec was as high as 3/4 inches, but I think that was before our cars.

Look at ride height of the frame and body, and try to figure if the body is offset to the left from the frame and wheels (and tires) separately. Then you'll know what to look in to.

thanks guys. just trying to figure out what went wrong. i was so happy with them until i took my friend for a ride🙁 think i might go get a set of smaller tires.

Measure all 4 wheel arches/wheelwells on the body going from ground to the highest part with the tape measure passing over the wheel hub. Then have someone sit in the car driverseat and measure again. If possible also do it with a driver and pass.

Write all 12 down and compare.

What size tire?

Last has the car been aligned since the work was done?

the car has not been aligned since. thats what im thinking is there maybe one too many shims in the upper control arm. im going to do a bunch of measuring tomorrow. im running a 15" camaro rallies with radial t/a's. forget what size tire.

My Camino has 235/60 15 front tires and 275/60 rears, all on 8" Vette rallys with 4" BS. The RF rubs a bit on the inner fender; LF does not. The LR rubs slightly on a hard bump; RR does not. Never been wrecked, and squares fine on an alignment rack. As mentioned, measure everything up and get a good alignment, but don't be surprised if there are some slight variations from side-to-side. 80's dimensional control and assembly technology were primitive, compared to today. That's why there are so many provisions for adjustment on doors and front end sheet metal. Might just be something you have to live with.

on my GP my left rear was lower then the other corners. I installed new springs and shocks but the frame still sat lower by 1/2" so I had to shim the spring....GM should have installed some spring buckets and jack screws so we could have made adjustments to fix their screw ups...lol

im thinking im either going to go with a smaller tire or im going to take acouple shims out of the upper control arms and give it a bit of a negative camber. its only out by like 3/8s of an inch.
